Summertime blues

I follow a few different photography-centered websites on Twitter, as I figure it's a good way to pick up tips and, perhaps more important, ideas for future photo posts. One article Twitter lead me to recently suggested, among other ideas, focusing on a particular color for a day. That sounded doable to me, so today I gave it a try. Between the title of today's post and the photos, I'm sure it won't take anyone very long to figure out what color I picked. ;)

To start things off, some Chicory I photographed on my way to work this morning—I loved how the morning sun illuminated the blossoms:

After work this evening I went out and photographed some of the Forget-me-nots still growing at the edge of the museum pond:

And a selection of damselflies that fit in with my chosen color scheme:

Consider this final image a postscript or bonus of sorts; it obviously doesn't fit the theme, but I don't often get a chance to photograph a Catbird out in the open—not to mention I really like how the berry in its beak stands out from everything else.

If anyone has a color they'd like to see me try something similar with, let me know in the comments and I'll give it a whirl in the coming days.
