I came home with 735 photos, but if you include the ones I deleted as I went I took 1144 in total.
I began downloading the pics at 8:08 p.m. The process finished at 9:32 p.m. I was done sorting and making my first selections at 11:09.
Given the lateness of the hour and that I still have to whittle some of my selections down further, I decided to break this post into multiple parts in order to make sure I got one in with today's date.
To start things off, some close-up chickadee pics—I was out on the porch for so long they became daring enough to land on the fountain that was only a yard from where I sat:

This one was just about to take off when I snapped this—I really liked the lines created by the wing feathers:

Taking a drink:

Later, over on the small waterfall in my parents' back yard, a chickadee met up for drinks with a chestnut-sided warbler; it was the first time I'd ever seen this particular warbler:

Giving the warbler its moment in the spotlight:

A titmouse working on a seed held in its claws:

A woodpecker:

A grackle. I picked this shot because of how the angle of light on its wing brings out the iridescence of its feathers:

A squirrel rummaging around for seeds at the base of the feeders:

Later it posed by the waterfall for me:

And to close out this batch, a photo of Kaylee's buddy Robbie:

Back with more in a little while...
