Ow

Yeah, the whole moving around using my legs and such? Not really a happening thing today. In fact, I seriously contemplated staying in my room all day rather than use the stairs, but in the end my stomach overruled the rest of my body.

Needless to say, I didn't have a lot of ambition when it came to going out and about to take pictures. But it turns out that purchasing my bird feeder was one of the best investments I've ever made, as it meant all I had to do was wait and let the photo subjects, like this Chickadee, come to me:

The Purple Finches stopped by as well:

During mid-afternoon, I had another visitor decide it wanted to hang around by my bird feeder for a while. And even though I'd just been watching it through the window, I was still a bit startled when it attained the position I photographed it in:

I'm pretty sure this cat belongs to my new neighbor, as I've only started seeing it around recently. With any luck the birds will be smart enough to stay away the next time she happens to be out and about—or at least keep off the bottom rungs of the feeder when she's nearby.

Here's hoping I'll be feeling a bit more mobile tomorrow...

  1. Nature, red in tooth and claw, and furry of tummy. Snortle. I wouldn't worry about the birds, they're probably better at evading her than she is at catching them anyway.
