On the hook

Since I'd already made plans to go on a field trip with Mom, Dad, and Kaylee tomorrow, which will no doubt result in a bunch more foliage shots at the very least, I decided I'd take it easy today photography-wise.

First, a pair of Purple Finches that spent a fair amount of time snacking at my bird feeder today:







And a spider that I watched work on constructing a web on the hook holding up my bird feeder. It was making good headway until a strong breeze caught the strand it was holding onto; the next thing the spider and I knew, it was off on an unplanned journey into the wild blue yonder:
