Colors are the smiles of nature

Today's post title courtesy of Leigh Hunt.

Another overcast day here, so I spent some of our morning walk trying to capture some different bits of color in an otherwise monochromatic landscape:







I noticed this interesting bit of growth at the base of a tree:



And the rest of the trunk was kinda interesting as well:



A lone birch tree that caught my eye:



These next two are of the same grouping of birch trees, but I liked both pics for different reasons: the first because of the framing effect of the two foreground trees, the second because I thought the color of the sky made for an interesting contrast with the deep blue of the mountains.
