The subject line pretty much says it all—after work today I photographed some of the flowers growing along the edge of the museum's casting pond, and these were the two shots I thought came out the best.
I went through my copy of Wildflowers of Vermont at least three times, but I couldn't find one that I thought definitively matched this particular blossom. Still pretty, though:
And on the other end of the spectrum, a flower I didn't even need the book to identify—a New England Aster:
