Bird bonanza

Got quite a few pics today, as despite the steady rain it was a very busy morning at my bird feeder, so I'm going to get right to it.

No need to adjust your monitor; this White-Breasted Nuthatch is indeed completely vertical:

Something I don't often see: a White-breasted Nuthatch and a Chickadee sharing space on the feeder:

I really like the beads of water you can see in this shot:

A Titmouse on top of the hook:

A bit of a flap between a Goldfinch and a nuthatch:

The rain seemed to put the birds in a more convivial mood than usual, as I think this is one of the first times I've seen Goldfinches sharing the feeder with a nuthatch:

A pair of Titmice:

The Titmouse on the left saw quite a visitors use the perch across from it. In addition to the Titmouse in the above photo, there was this Goldfinch on its way up to the perch:

And a Chickadee:

Later, I saw a couple of Goldfinches sharing with a Titmouse:

Eventually another Goldfinch took the Titmouse's spot:

And was soon displaced by its fellow finch:

This Titmouse was just too adorably wet and bedraggled for words:

Love that lone crest feather standing tall:

I liked how this close up came out:

Giving an equally damp Goldfinch the once over:

By this point, as you can see by the blotch over the Goldfinch's head, the raindrops were starting to take over my view of the feeder. So I decided to call it a day, photographically speaking. Naturally, this is when the Goldfinches started arriving in droves. And despite the water dotting the window, I felt compelled to pick up my camera one last time in order to record the occasion of having seven Goldfinches grace me with their presence: one occupying each of the six perches, and a seventh hoping to find someone willing to share:
