Today I decided to drive over to a pond my mom told me about, somewhere she and Dad have seen various birds and such. When I got there I spotted some ducks of a breed I didn't recognize floating in the water, but when I tried to get a bit closer they took off for the other end—even though I was still at least 100 feet away from them. Not to mention still on dry land. The water was very still, though, so I was able to get this shot of a tree across the way and its reflection:
Then I just wandered around the edge of the pond and took various photos of whatever caught my eye:
I swung back over to the pond I visited on Friday, and if I'd been a bit quicker on the draw I might have gotten a photo of a kingfisher. But I did get this pic of a Canada goose on a log; its back was to me, so as you can see its head was twisted around a little bit:
I'm a big fan of photos with reflections. Your first photo is excellent and the last one is "to die for". You really "nailed it" as a photo friend would say....you captured both the dead grass(?) reflection and the goose and his/her reflection.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your blog.
Very cool. The water looks like a mirror.
